Carven Consulting principal Greg Carven will conduct negotiations with parties in Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales to provide a package to meet the project requirements, Crest said.

The proposed plant will have an initial capacity of 60,000 tonnes of magnesium alloys with provision for further expansion.

Discussions in Tasmania are to be completed by October 1 and in Victoria and New South Wales by November 1.

The finalisation of the energy package will determine the location of the magnesium metal plant site.
