The company produced 15,274oz at AISC of $1977/oz in the December quarter from its New South Wales operations on the back of scheduled lower grade ore and flagged plant shutdowns.

That took production for the half year to 44,581oz, equating to about half the full-year target of 85,000-95,000oz.

Aurelia's net cash position declined about $30 million to $63.6 million following a return to shareholders of $17.4 million made in October and $14 million invested on the Peak processing plant upgrade.

Aurelia said the Peak upgrade involving the addition of a lead-zinc circuit was "on plan" for commissioning this quarter.

Shares in Aurelia were down 2% to 42.5c in early trade, capitalising the company at $371 million.
