Mondium will design and build a new tailings retreatment plant at Greenbushes

The contract also includes design and construction of detailed earthworks, concrete works, structural, platework, electrical and instrumentation works and controls.

Mondium is a 60:40 joint venture between listed engineering companies Monadelphous Group and Lycopodium.

The new work represents Mondium's largest contract to date and its second with Talison, following the successful delivery of a new chemical-grade plant feed system at Greenbushes last year.

Mondium director Bob Osmetti said the award was a testament to Mondium's strong capability of delivering quality projects.

"We are excited to have been awarded such a significant contract and look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Talison Lithium," he said.

Work under the contract is expected to be completed by June 2020.

In other WA contract news today, WestStar Industrial subsidiary SIMPEC has been awarded more than $5 million in scope extensions with clients including Iluka Resources and MSP Engineering.

Pacific Energy subsidiary Kalgoorlie Power Systems also secured up to a 6MW expansion with AngloGold Ashanti at the Tropicana gold mine to coincide with the start of underground mining.
