Sedgman operates a facility at the project to crush and screen ore from the Black Star and George Fisher mines.

The facility is currently scheduled to crush around 3.2 million tonnes per annum of lead-zinc ore from the Black Star through a three stage crushing circuit which reduces material from a maximum size of 800mm to a final product size of 14mm.

It consists of two separate crushing circuits capable of processing 400 tonnes per hour each.

Sedgman chief executive and managing director Peter Watson said he was delighted by the prospect of strengthening the relationship with Mount Isa Mines.

“We have been working closely with Mount Isa Mines to continually improve our operations performance through effective operating practices,” he said.

“Our Mount Isa operations team have demonstrated their expertise in maintaining high-availability and delivering high production performance whilst maintaining excellent safety standards.”

Sedgman has 19 people on site supported by an off-site technical team in Brisbane and Townsville.

The Townsville workshop facility provides fabrication, refurbishment and shutdown support to the company’s facility at Mount Isa.

Sedgman has operated at Mount Isa Mines since 2006.

Shares in Sedgman were steady at A70c this morning.
