Assays from a reverse circulation drilling program over 500m of strike at the Akropon prospect included 8m at 11.7 grams per tonne gold from 12m, and 12m at 13.8gpt from 32m.

Adamus said Akropon could potentially contribute a modest openpit resource to the Southern Ashanti project.

Southern Ashanti is Adamus’ flagship gold project with an estimated resource of 23 million tonnes at 2.1gpt gold for 1.6 million ounces of contained gold.

The company is awaiting permit approvals to begin mine construction and is continuing with exploration to expand its resource base.

Perth-based Adamus is listed on the Australian and Toronto stock exchanges and owns projects in Western Australia’s Kimberley, Tasmania and Ghana in West Africa.

Shares in Adamus were trading at 80c early this afternoon, down 5c.
