Perth, and Western Australia's Peel and South West regions were put into a hard lockdown at 6pm on Sunday after a security guard at a quarantine hotel contracted the highly transmissible UK strain of COVID-19.

FIFO workers were permitted to continue travel to sites across the state, but only if essential.

As of last night, WA had not recorded any further cases of community transmission, giving premier Mark McGowan confidence to announce the easing of lockdown restrictions from 6pm tonight, pending no new cases today.

Part of that involves lifting restrictions on the movement of FIFO personnel out of Perth.

"FIFO workers will once again be able to leave the Perth and Peel regions, but documentation will be required and they must follow strict health protocols," the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies said.

"FIFO staff from Perth will need to continue to wear a mask for another seven days."
