Gold miners again deep in negative territory as entire sector falls

Another shocker for ASX gold sector

This article is 3 years old. Images might not display.

Copper (comprising just two companies, OZ Minerals and Sandfire Resources) was down 4.4%, while the unloved gold miners dropped 4.7%.

All 10 ASX 200 gold stocks fell, the worst being Silver Lake Resources which each lost more than 8%.

Four of the 10 hit 52-week lows today: Silver Lake, Regis Resources, Evolution Mining and Ramelius Resources.

Other gold companies at a year low included Dacian Gold, Wiluna Mining Corp, Navarre Minerals and Saturn Metals.

The only miners in the ASX 200 to rise were coal miners New Hope Corp and Whitehaven Coal and lithium developer Liontown Resources, the latter of which secured offtake and funding from leading car maker Ford Motor Company.

The deal with Ford allowed Liontown to make a final investment decision for the Kathleen Valley project.
