ASX ends week up, but miners down again

AFTER what was a pretty brutal week for investors, with the spectre of a global recission stalking the markets, the ASX shrugged off losses in the future markets overnight and followed Wall Street in gaining some altitude today, closing up about 0.8%, with the All Ords up 1%.
