LME suspends nickel trading after price hits $100,000

THE London Metal Exchange suspended trading in nickel on Tuesday after the price doubled again to more than US$100,000 per tonne.

In a statement, the LME said the price movements were unprecedented and the decision had been made on "orderly market grounds".

Tuesday nickel trades were also cancelled.
