Miners outpace strong ASX 

AUSTRALIAN shares were trading at their highest point in 11 years earlier today, with the S&P ASX200 index up to 6692, its highest level since November 2007, before easing - but the market was still up around 0.5% in late trade, with Mines and Metals up around the same.
