The Melbourne-based miner announced preliminary December quarter gold output of 99,509 ounces from Simberi and Gwalia in Western Australia, taking half-year production to 197,768oz.
Simberi had another record quarter, producing 36,674oz thanks to a higher head grade of 1.32 grams per tonne gold and 86% recovery.
Half-year production at Simberi was 70,650oz, which led St Barbara to upgrade full-year guidance for the once-struggling operation to 115,000-125,000oz from 105,000-115,000oz.
Gwalia had a steady quarter, producing 62,835oz and taking half-year production to 127,118oz.
