A RESURGENCE in support for Donald Trump in US election polling has sent markets into a tailspin.

Stocks across the region slumped after an ABC poll gave Trump a narrow lead over rival Hillary Clinton just a week out from the election. The S&P/ASX 200 dropped by 1.2% or 61.5 points to 5229 points....
