Sector leader Syrah Resources is up more than 50% over the past few months, while Magnis Resources is up over 200% and Kibaran Resources 100%.

Another, Lincoln Minerals, which unlike the other three in Africa is advancing a graphite project in South Australia, is up more than 100%.

Even less advanced graphite stocks are on the move, with Volt Resource another enjoying a rise of over 200%.

Interest in the sector by equity traders appeared to wane in favour of lithium stories through 2015.

Both materials are key elements in the booming lithium-ion battery space.

But sector rotation and the more advanced nature of the likes of Syrah, Magnis, Kibaran and Lincoln in particular has re-attracted interest.
