The Ivanhoe Mines board was cleared out last week after Rio Tinto recently acquired a controlling stake in the company.

Another Ivanhoe Mines director, Sam Riggall, has also resigned from the board of Ivanhoe Australia.

Lead Ivanhoe Australia director Ian Plimer has been appointed as interim chairman.

Rio will eventually nominate directors to join the Ivanhoe Australia board.

Matthew Gauci has resigned as managing director and CEO of Uranex.

The company’s project development manager Rodney Chittenden has been appointed as acting MD and CEO until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Gold developer Gryphon Minerals has appointed Steven Zaninovich to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

Zaninovich is a non-executive director of the company but will step down from the board.

Charles Soh has announced he will retire as a non-executive director of Ampella Mining at the annual general meeting next month.

The board has started a search for a replacement.

Former African Iron and Territory Resources director Joe Ariti has been appointed to the board of Energio.

Athan Lekkas has resigned.

Pluton Resources has appointed Chenxi Wang to the board as a representative of major shareholder Timeone Holdings.

Richard Chan has joined the board of Hill End Gold as a representative of new shareholder Infiniti Premium Resources.

Norman Zillman has resigned as a director of Red Gum Resources.

Universal Coal executive chairman Tony Harwood has resigned from the company.

His replacement is director John Hopkins who will be non-executive chairman.

The administrators of Range River Gold have appointed Brian McMaster, Jonathan Hart and Daniel Crennan as directors, replacing Kenneth Barassi, Kevin Tuckwell and Paul Fowler.

Xanadu Mines has appointed financial executive Haydn Lynch as executive director – Xanadu Mines Mongolia, based in Ulaanbaatar.

Following the acquisition of a Peruvian project, Wild Acre Metals has appointed local operational staff and established an office in Lima.

Paco Solano has been appointed as consulting geologist and community relations consultant and Rosy Haro has been appointed administration manager.

Finally, Zhanna Tazhibayeva and Alan Thomas have been appointed as joint company secretaries of Central Asia Resources.

Tazhibayeva is already the company’s chief financial officer and the two replace director Mike Michael who remains on the board.
