Market recovers from early bloodshed

INVESTORS woke to carnage on the Australian bourse this morning as the market continued to reel from the Centro Properties Group meltdown. But the market staged a recovery in afternoon trade, thanks mainly to bargain hunters.

In morning trade, the S&P/ASX200 shed 2.5% to a four-month low of 6105.6 but recovered to 6236.9, only 26.6 points lower at close of trade, while the All Ordinaries closed 39.2 points lower at 6292.6....
