Metals take a hit

IT WAS a weak session for metals on Monday as demand paused after Chinese New Year.

Nickel fell nearly 2.9% to $US17,789 per tonne, its lowest point in nearly a month.

Aluminium dropped 2.4% to $2077/t, while tin and lead fell 2% each to $24,263/t and $2370.75/t respectively.
