Newcrest plans half a billion capital raising

AUSTRALIA’S largest home-grown gold miner, Newcrest Mining, has launched a $A500 million share placement to pay down its debt and have cash ready for development opportunities. Meanwhile, the company has also unveiled a strong profit for the December quarter.
