Market slides into the weekend

THE share market was working overtime today but as for taking care of business, Final Call suspects few resource execs would have welcomed the weekend with a hearty BTO musical rendition. Meanwhile a shipping incident in Port Hedland recalled last year’s scenes of the Pasha Bulker and gave BHP another window to condemn third-party rail access.

After two days of cautious gains the local bourse reversed the trend with the All Ordinaries pushing south to close the week 74.6 points down on 4978.
