Kirkwood is chairman of Circle Holdings and of independent financial advisory firm Ondra Partners.

AngloGold chairman Tito Mboweni said Kirkwood’s experience in international finance would enhance the skill set of its board.

Anne Stevens has joined the board of Anglo American after being appointed non-executive director.

Stevens, an engineer, has served on the board of Lockheed Martin Corporation as a non-executive director since 2002.

Anglo American chairman Sir John Parker said Stevens’ engineering training and wide-ranging commercial acumen and experience gained across North, Central and South America would add further strength to the board.

Bathurst Resources chairman Craig Munro has joined the board of Energy and Minerals Australia as an independent non-executive director.

Munro is an accountant and has more than 35 years experience in the mining industry.

Meanwhile, Aphrodite Gold has announced the appointment of Peter Buttigieg to the board of directors.

Buttigieg is currently the head of information technology group RMS and is based in Melbourne.

Venture Minerals has moved to expand its management team, appointing Jon Grygorcewicz as chief financial officer.

Prior to joining Venture, Grygorcewicz was CFO with Focus Minerals, where he played a pivotal role in transitioning the company from a mineral explorer to a gold producer.

Oraya Mining has announced the appointment of Wade Guo as a non-executive director.

In addition, the company has welcomed Joshua Wellisch to the position of executive director.

Queensland Mining Corporation has welcomed Doug McLean to the company, who has been appointed as resource development manager for the White Range project.

McLean, a geologist, has more than 35 years experience in the industry and was involved as the senior project resource geologist at AngloGold Ashanti’s Tropicana gold mine in Western Australia.

White Star Resources has appointed Tara Robson as company secretary, replacing Amy Musgrave.

Prior to joining the company, Robson had been the company secretary for Anvil Mining from 1997 to 2005.

Elementos has appointed Linda Scott as CFO.

Meanwhile, Paul Crawford will remain as joint company secretary.
