BHP's Goodyear heads for London

BHP Ltd chief financial officer Chip Goodyear, a close advisor to managing director Paul Anderson and a key architect of its proposed merger with Billiton, is packing his bags for London to become chief development officer of the combined company.

Goodyear will replace Billiton's executive director of finance, Mick Davis, who is quitting to become chief executive of Xstrata AG, the world's number one producer of ferrochrome used to make steel.
