BHP Billiton's top brass pocket $27.3 million

BHP Billiton's seven most senior executives walked away with $27.3 million in cash and bonuses over the past year, amongst them chief executive Paul Anderson who earned $7.8 million for his efforts in the merger with Billiton.

Anderson was given a $700,000 pay rise for his stewardship of the $57 billion merger with UK-based Billiton completed in June, The Australian reported today.
