No end in sight to Horne strike

NORANDA reported overnight that there were no plans for fresh talks to end the six-month long strike by workers at its Horne copper smelter in Quebec.

The smelter is currently being operated at 70% of capacity by staff and management.

A Noranda spokesman said there was nothing to report on negotiations.
