CATL launches new long-range battery

CHINESE battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited, or CATL, has launched what it said is the world’s first lithium-ion-phosphate, or LFP, battery capable of delivering 400km of driving range with a 10-minute charge and 700km from a full charge.

 CATL expects to achieve mass production of the Shenxing by the end of 2023, with EVs to be equipped with the new battery and available on the market in the first quarter of 2024.
