An Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Australia spokesman said the configuration of the Simba 366S was based on Atlas Copco's popular Simba H4356 top hammer drill rig, but used in-the-hole hammer drilling technology.

The Enterprise 366S has a five-inch ITH hammer with air pressure up to 25 bar for drilling blast holes of 146mm diameter or less. The rig can ring drill with up to 80% of holes down-holes to 60m depth. Remaining holes are drilled at 102mm diameter with an average length of 15m.

MIM's Enterprise copper mine in north-west Queensland has become the first to order one of Atlas Copco's new Simba 366S long-hole drill rigs.

The Simba 366S is said to be able to drill at an angle of up to 25 degrees from the vertical position, and parallel holes up to 3m, without relocating the drill rig. The unit has a fully air-conditioned FOPS approved cabin, with sound suppression to 85dB(A) and an automatic drilling system.

Enterprise's new H1357S is equipped with a COP 1838HE hydraulic rock drill.
