Now in its third year, the program provides selected participants with US$500,000 in equity-free funding, technical and commercial support, and the opportunity to partner with BHP to fast-track their exploration journey.

Sophie Proud - Manager of BHP Xplor

Sophie Proud is the Manager of the BHP Xplor program, BHP’s global accelerator program targeting innovative, early-stage mineral exploration companies. Sophie brings a wealth of experience in Strategy and Innovation, having worked across multiple industries before calling BHP home. She specialises in turning strategic vision into execution and results. Sophie holds a degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Melbourne and is passionate about building future capabilities to drive sustainable growth.

Siobhan Lismore-Scott, Group Mining Finance Editor, Aspermont

Siobhan has been working as a journalist across the mining and resources sector since 2007 and has been editor of Mining Journal for the last three years.

 

Amanda Irons, VP of Corporate Development at Scout Discoveries

Amanda Irons is Vice President of Corporate Development at Scout Discoveries, bringing over 13 years of experience in the geoscience sector. With a strong foundation in geology and strategic growth, Amanda plays a key role in shaping corporate direction and fostering industry partnerships. She holds both undergraduate and master’s degrees from the Colorado School of Mines.

Mark Dugmore (MSc, BAppSc, MAusIMM, MAIG)

Mark Dugmore is Managing Director of Red Ox Copper, a private mineral exploration group in Australia. With over 30 years of industry experience, he leads a team with a proven record of Tier-1 discoveries and a strong focus on grassroots, greenfield exploration concepts. Under his leadership, Red Ox is advancing a novel targeting model to uncover world-class ore deposits beneath cover in Australia, opening up opportunities for new mineral provinces and future growth.
