Rio sues Monadelphous for Cape Preston fire

MORE than 18 months after a fire ripped through a screening house at Rio Tinto’s iron ore processing facility at Cape Lambert, it has pinned the blame on Monadelphous, and it is seeking almost A$500 million in damages, filing a writ of summons in the Supreme Court of Western Australia late last week.
