Orica stays optimistic about recovery

GLOBAL mine explosives leader Orica will maintain a 16.5c-a-share interim dividend payout as it seeks to rein in costs and expenditure amid an uncertain 2020 outlook for mining in the Americas and other parts of the world. The company has reported a A$165 million FY20 first-half net profit on $2.88 billion revenues (flat year-on-year) with minimal disruption to its core Australian market so far from COVID-19 measures a sobering factor for investors.
