Decmil savaged on losses

SHARES in diversified construction firm Decmil have been savaged, falling almost 80% after the construction company revealed a A$75 million loss for the first half of the year and inherent uncertainties over the timing of project completions due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Decmil’s payday on Mulla Mulla, the “flashiest camp BHP has built” has not met expectations.

Its accounts had been delayed following February's termination of a $49 million construction contract with the New Zealand Department of Corrections that made up the bulk of a $63.
