Clean TeQ teams up with MCC

METALLURGICAL Corporation of China has emerged from the ruck as Clean TeQ Holding’s key project delivery partner for the development of the massive US$1.5 billion Sunrise project in New South Wales.

Sunrise will be a major cobalt supplier.

MCC is part the largest and most internationally-focused mining company in China, China Minmetals Corporation, and is already well known to Australian investors through its role in Highland Pacific's world-class Ramu nickel-cobalt laterite mine in Papua New Guinea, and more recently its role as EPC contractor for Triton Minerals's Ancuabe graphite project in Mozambique. 
 
Clean TeQ and MCC have signed a heads of agreement for a fixed-price EPC contract covering detailed engineering and on-site construction of Sunrise, which aims to reduce financial and project execution risk for the cobalt-nickel-scandium laterite project, and allows the A$422 million company to take on more debt.
