Sheffield forges ahead at Thunderbird mineral sands project

The Western Australian mine is now 60% complete

Sheffield Resources is making headway at its fully funded Western Australian ilmenite and zircon mine.

The Thunderbird mineral sand project, a joint venture with Chinese steel producer Yansteel, is the largest zircon resource under development globally. Sheffield's executive chair Bruce Griffin explains the history of the project, and its path to production in 2023.
