Strong backing for Oyu Tolgoi: Friedland

ROBERT Friedland has scorned any concerns over the financing of the $US1.15 billion ($A1.6 billion) Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold project, but he remains less flippant about the fiscal regime yet to be finalised with the Mongolian Government.

Speaking informally at the Asia Mining Congress in Singapore yesterday, Friedland claimed there was strong for appetite for backing the Oyu Tolgoi story from both debt and equity sources.
