AWE backs MinRes takeover

PERTH Basin oil and gas producer AWE has recommended an improved offer from Chris Ellison's Mineral Resources that, if supported by shareholders over a rival deal from the Chinese, will keep the giant Waitsia gas field in Australian hands.
