Employee terminated, police alerted in coal conspiracy

Australian laboratory services giant ALS has found almost half of its coal analysis certificates were manually amended without cause at multiple facilities since 2007, and the matter is being referred to New South Wales police.

ALS's Australian coal unit has been investigated.

Last month, Brisbane-based ALS suspended four staff at its coal testing unit following allegations they misrepresented the quality of TerraCom's coal.
