THE board of troubled zinc-copper miner Heron Resources asked managing director and CEO Wayne Taylor to hand in his resignation yesterday, effective immediately, as the company seeks to recapitalise and overcome teething issues at its Woodlawn mine in New South Wales.

Taylor, a mining engineer with over 30 years' experience, joined TriAusMin in 2011 from a role managing Glencore's base metal business development. He became Heron's MD after a merger in 2015.
