THE scale of the task of shutting down one of Australia’s oldest and largest uranium mines, the controversial Ranger mine within the Northern Territory’s Kakadu National Park, is starting to come into sharp focus with Energy Resources of Australia announcing the rehabilitation program costs alone have likely blown out to A$808 million.
