BOARD war has broken out at Empire Resources, with disgruntled shareholders looking to turf current directors of the gold mining micro-cap.

The disgruntled want to replace Lee Christensen, David Sargeant and Adrian Jessup with Stephen Allen, Christopher Banasik and Brett Fraser

Empire said Paul Williams and Peter McDonald are associated with some of the disgruntled shareholders and are also the directors of Brimstone Resources, Empire 's joint venture partner in the Penny's Find gold mine northeast of Kalgoorlie.

According to Empire, Brimstone owes it about A$1.1 million for unfunded contributions and interest relating to development costs for the Penny's Find mine - held 60:40 by Empire and Brimstone respectively.

Payment of that debt is due June 6, according to Empire.

Empire is also in dispute with the toll treatment processing plant owner EGMS for an amount of $830,000 that Empire says...
