THE application of seismic methods in mineral exploration is not new but is gaining public currency as more miners extol the virtues of the technology as a time and cost saver, and value builder. It has tended to overshadow the impact of improved geochemistry and other geophysics advances in the industry’s ‘smart exploration’ push, but there are significant developments on those fronts, too.
