Thiess ordered to pay Placer $4.8 million

A LONG-running dispute between Canadian miner Placer Dome and Thiess over a contract at the Granny Smith gold mine has been settled again, this time by the High Court, which ordered the contractor to pay almost $5 million to Placer.
