Copper facing short-term challenges, LME Week hears

A slowdown in China’s economic growth will weigh on copper prices in 2022 before increased demand for the red metal courtesy of the energy transition provides bullish impetus in the medium-term, Capital Economics chief economist Neil Shearing told the audience on the first day of LME Week on Monday.
