With the Chinese government pushing to draw a high water mark on its carbon dioxide emissions, growth in the country’s copper smelting capacity is set to peak in the next year or two, China Non-ferrous Metal Industry Association secretary general of copper branch Duan Shaofu told delegates at the 2021 CRU World Copper Conference.
