Novo president Dr Quinton Hennigh after his first Diggers presentation

Hennigh told Diggers & Dealers on Wednesday that what the company had seen around Karratha was "absolutely mind-blowing".

"Based on that, we jumped into this project aggressively," he said.

Hennigh said it was about doing the science to unlock the discovery.

"We're exploring it and we're doing it very forensically I'd say," he said.

"We're not looking for grade, but geology. We're trying to demonstrate we have a volume of rock with grade."

The company has been bulk sampling, which Hennigh described as productive for the most part.

"It is very challenging - I won't pretend it's not. This rock is very hard," he said.

"It's been stressful across the board for everyone."

Hennigh believes the company will hit steady state...
