New World's first drilling at the project was headlined by 5.5m grading 2.5% copper and 11.8% zinc, and 3.9m at 4.2% copper and 11.1% zinc, with the junior saying the work was "confirming the zone of unmined mineralisation so far over a vertical distance of more than 150m".

Antler yielded about 70,000 tonnes grading 2.9% copper and 6.9% zinc when mined at various times between 1916 and 1970.

Assays for another three holes are due next month, with New World indicating the potential for similar results.

And further drilling has been flagged to begin in 4-6 weeks.

An historical resource of 4.66Mt at 1.95% copper, 4.13% zinc, 0.94% lead and 35.9 grams per tonne silver has previously been reported.

New World is understood to have started the current quarter with about A$1.5 million cash.

Shares in New World were up 8% to 14c in afternoon trade, capitalising the company at $12 million.
