Deep Yellow confirms uranium discovery

JOHN Borshoff’s Deep Yellow will estimate a maiden resource next quarter following what it said was confirmation of a uranium discovery at Tumas 3, located 30km from the Langer Heinrich operation in Namibia owned by Paladin and CNNC.

Tumas 3 currently extends over a 1.9km strike length, with better hits including 12 metres grading 1239 parts per million uranium oxide from 5.1m depth and 12m at 1163ppm U3O8 from 6.1m.

Of the 144 vertical holes drilled for 3611m to mid-May, Paladin said 128 of these holes returned “positive results - a very significant 88.9% success rate”.    

Deep Yellow said the mineralised channel system that has been identified varies from 200m to 900m in width and ranges in thickness from 1m to 12m occurring at depths varying between 3m to 19m.
