Stocks to Watch: November

It's annual general meeting season, which makes way for silly season, but there is much going on in the sector still.

It's an interesting time in the gold space, with Westgold Resources currently fighting for Gascoyne Resources and Ramelius Resources and Gold Road Resources each bidding for Apollo Consolidated.

There's likely more to play out in both cases.

And in nickel, BHP and Wyloo Metals continued to fight over Noront Resources in October, while IGO had previously disclosed a potential offer for Western Areas.

In nickel-related news, Chalice Mining is expected to release the much-anticipated maiden resource for its Julimar polymetallic discovery outside Perth.

Macquarie has forecast a mining inventory of 80 million tonnes at 1.76 grams per tonne palladium, 0.44gpt platinum, 0.11gpt gold, 0.23% nickel, 0.26% copper and 0.02% cobalt.

Chalice's stablemate Liontown Resources is set to report the results of a definitive feasibility study for its Kathleen Valley lithium project in Western Australia.

Caravel Resources has flagged an updated to the resource for its large, low-grade, namesake copper project in Western Australia early in the month.

The resource will underpin a prefeasibility study, due for release in the March quarter of 2022.

AIC Mines is expected to resume trading later this week after raising A$40 million at 25c per share to acquire the Eloise copper mine in Queensland.

The fourth quarter is usually a busy period for new listings and with an estimated 80-plus miners and explorers already having listed in 2021, the rush shows no signs of slowing.

Companies expected to list this month include Aurum Resources, C29 Metals, Cooper Metals, Austral Resources Australia, Hamelin Gold, Green Technology Metals, Dundas Minerals, Cosmos Exploration, Kalgoorlie Gold Mining, Evolution Energy Minerals, Parabellum Resources, Resilience Mining Mongolia, Lukin Resources and Nimy Resources.

Dominion Minerals debuted today after backdoor listing via the shell of Factor Therapeutics.

Among the AGMs, of particular interest is BHP and Fortescue Metals Group's, both being held next week.

While the month will be dominated by AGMs, there is also a number of other events happening.

The biennial NewGen Gold Conference will return to Perth next week featuring technical presentations focusing on some of the industry's best recent discoveries.

Noosa Mining Unearthed will also be held in Queensland over two-and-a-half days next week.

The Gold Industry Group's popular Great GIG Diversity Debate will return after a one-year hiatus, though COVID-19 border closures mean this year's iteration will be in Perth only.

This year's topic is ‘Working from home - a golden opportunity or a cage with gold bars?'.
