In deal news, IGO said in May it still expects its US$1.4 billion acquisition of lithium assets from Tianqi Lithium to close this month.

The A$889 million sale of 30% of the Tropicana gold mine in Regis Resources closed yesterday, allowing IGO to complete the Tianqi deal without drawing down on debt.

Several companies are set to join the producer ranks this month.

Capricorn Metals is due to pour first gold from the Karlawinda gold project in the Pilbara this month, while Emerald Resources is due to reach the same milestone from its Okvau project in Cambodia.

Both companies are run by former senior Regis Resources executives.

Element 25 is on track for its first shipment of manganese from the Butcherbird project near Newman this month through Utah Point at Port Hedland.

On the development front, BCI Minerals is due to make a final investment decision on its Mardie salt and potash project in the Pilbara.

In Canada, Vital Metals should become one of the very few ASX-listed rare earths producers.

Pilbara Minerals should also make a decision on whether to restart the Ngungaju lithium plant (formerly Altura) by the end of the month, with recommissioning potentially to occur in the December quarter.

Gold major Newcrest Mining is due to complete the Lihir 14A prefeasibility study this month, but won't likely release the results until next month.

A feasibility study on Genesis Minerals' Ulysses gold projects in WA is due to be completed this month, ahead of a final investment decision by the end of 2021.

Boss Resources will release its enhanced feasibility study for the Honeymoon uranium project in South Australia, which could position it as Australia's next uranium producer.

PNX Metals is aiming to release the feasibility study for its Fountain Head gold project in the Northern Territory, ahead of a final investment decision.

Bellevue Gold has been working on the stage two feasibility study for its namesake mine in WA, which could be released this month.

One of the most anticipated releases of the month is set to be the maiden resource for De Grey Mining's Hemi gold discovery.

Argonaut Securities expects a maiden resource of 4.4-5.4 million ounces of gold.

Stavely Minerals is also targeting the release of a maiden resource for its Thursday's Gossan copper discovery.

Last week, Metalicity said resource estimations for several deposits at the Kookynie gold project in WA were underway.

EMR Capital's copper miner 29Metals is aiming to list this month and is reportedly seeking to raise $609 million, which would make it the largest ASX mining IPO in well over a decade.

Prospectuses for new IPOs continue to drop daily. Companies scheduled to list this month include Barton Gold, Torque Metals, Cosmo Gold, Lunnon Metals, Flynn Gold, Codrus Minerals, Lode Resources, Arcadia Minerals, Monger Gold, Australian Rare Earths, OZZ Resources, Western Mines Group, Polymetals Resources and Aerison Group.

Paydirt's 2021 Battery Minerals Conference will be held in Perth tomorrow, featuring presentations from more than 20 companies across the lithium, graphite, nickel and rare earths spaces.

The Sydney Mining Club will host De Grey this week, fresh from an investor site visit to Hemi today. Melbourne Mining Club's June luncheon featuring Northern Star Resources managing director Raleigh Finlayson is looking shaky due to the city's COVID-19 outbreak, while the WA Mining Club will host a panel discussion on indigenous relations.

Nominations for the 2021 MNN Awards kicked off yesterday and will remain open until the end of the month, seeking input from the industry for the four categories: Deal, Explorer, CEO and Emerging Leader of the Year.
