Appian's second mining fund closes oversubscribed

RISING commodity prices and the promise of a stimulus-led recovery have boosted interest in mining equities, and an oversubscribed US$775 million raise by London-based investment firm Appian Capital suggests private equity is making a return to the sector after a six-year hiatus.
