Alkane's golden anniversary

THERE are multiple listed companies on the Australian Securities Exchange with long, storied careers as resource hunters - notably BHP, which went public in August 1885 or Santos that listed in 1954 -  but there are few smaller companies that have survived, which makes Alkane Resources' 50th anniversary this month something of an anomaly.
