THE wider Australian Securities Exchange market opened flat this morning before moving into positive territory then ceding ground after lunch. Capping a see-sawing day, it finished up 0.1% at 6148 points.

The Mining & Metals sector was off 0.19%, although the gold sector was up 0.71%, although Aussie gold giant Newcrest Mining also went backwards (0.4%) despite a rise in the yellow metal's price overnight...
