Market snaps winning streak

THE Australian market ended a six-day winning streak today, falling back substantially as all of the major sectors posted losses.

The S&P/ASX 200 index fell lower shortly after opening and remained there throughout the day, closing 1.6% or 92.1 points down at 5614.6 points.
