Thank God it's Friday!

INVESTORS stemmed yesterday’s blood-letting on the local bourse in today’s trade thanks to a more positive session from global markets while gold and base metals gained ground.

After a 2.3% plunge yesterday, the S&P/ASX 200 index finished 52.4 points, or 1.2%, higher at 4296.5 while the All Ordinaries climbed 51.3 points to 4358.6.
